NABL Accreditation / ISO 15189:2012 Accreditation

Over the years Value Added has created a niche for itself in facilitating accreditation services to various Medical Diagnostic Labs across South India and helped them in achieving the coveted NABL Accreditation complying to ISO 15189 Standards. Value Added has provided consulting assistance to over 100 Medical Laboratories towards their journey to get their laboratories accredited to NABL Standards. Value Added has worked with all major hospital attached Labs and Independent Diagnostic Labs in the South and has facilitated NABL Accreditation for them.

NABH Accreditation – Hospitals

NABH Accreditation standards provide framework for quality assurance and quality improvement for hospitals. The standards focus on patient safety and quality of patient care. The standards are equally applicable to hospital & nursing homes in the government as well as in the private sector. Value Added has worked with over 70 hospitals helping them implement systems in tune with the requirements of NABH Standards. Value Added can help Hospitals by conducting Gap Assesment with respect to the NABH Standards, Prepare necessary Standard Operating Procedures for various functional areas, Train the employees on NABH Standards Requirments, Handhold on Implementation of the Standards, Conduct Internal Audits to verify the effectiveness of Implementation and help facilitate Accreditation to NABH Standards

NABH Accreditation – Medical Imaging Services (NABH MIS)

Medical Imaging Services cover investigations of patients that provide imaging information for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease; or assessment of health. It includes conventional radiation based diagnostic radiology as well as a wide variety of specialised techniques including ultrasound, Doppler, Bone densitometry, CT scan, MRI, PET-CT etc. These services are essential for patient care and therefore must meet the needs of all patient and the clinical personnel responsible for the care of those patients.

To assess the quality and safety of medical imaging services and to represent a method for monitoring of quality standards NABH has introduced accreditation standards for Imaging / Radiology centers. Value Added works closely with medical imaging / Radiology centers and guide them to implement the Standards. Value Added has the distinction of facilitating the first center in the State of Tamilnadu to achieve this coveted accreditation.

NABH Accreditation – Allopathic Clinics

In India, the Heath System currently operates within an environment of rapid social, economical and technical changes. Such changes raise the concern for the quality of health care. Clinic is an integral part of the health care system. The shift from inpatient to outpatient care is drawing attention to the role of the primary care provider. Non hospital based care is now considered extremely important in the healthcare system. Clinics, which form the delivery arm of primary care or out of hospital care, have received less attention than other elements of healthcare as far as quality assurance is concerned. To bridge this gap and to improve the quality NABH has introduced accreditation standards for Clinics. Value Added works closely with clinics and puts in place a robust system complying to NABH Standards requirements. Value Added has to its credit, facilitation of NABH Accreditation to the First Allopathic Clinic in the State of Tamilnadu.
NABH Accreditation – Wellness Centres
NABH has introduced accreditation standards to evaluate Wellness Centers. The standards provide framework for quality of care for customers and quality improvement for Wellness Centres. The standards help to build a quality culture at all level and across all the functions of Wellness Centre. Value Added provides guidance to wellness centers implement the quality standards set by NABH and has to its credit the faciilitation of accreditation to the first Wellness Center in Tamilnadu.
NABH Accreditation – Blood Banks
Blood banks/ blood centres are an integral part of health care system. Accreditation would be the single most important approach for improving the quality of blood banks. To improve the quality and safety of collecting, processing, testing, transfusion and distribution of blood and blood products NABH has introduce Accreditation of blood banks/ blood centres and blood transfusion Centers. Value Added works closely with Blood Banks to put in place quality and operational systems to comply with the requirments of NABH Accreditation Standards, applicable laws and regulations including guidelines set by National Aids Control Organisation (NACO). Jeevan Blood Bank was the first center in Tamilnadu to achieve the accreditation and Value Added is credited with facilitation of the same.
CAP Accreditation – College of American Pathologist Accreditation
CAP refers to College of American Pathologists. The College of American Pathologists is a medical society serving nearly 16,000 physician members and the laboratory community throughout the world. It is the world’s largest association composed exclusively of pathologists and is widely considered the leader in laboratory quality assurance. The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is an internationally recognized Program and The only one of its kind that utilizes teams of practicing Laboratory professionals as inspectors. Designed to go well beyond regulatory compliance, The Program helps laboratories achieve the highest standards of excellence to positively impact patient care. There are about 25 accredited labs in India to this coveted accreditation and Value Added has facilitated the CAP Accreditation to 4 Medical Laboratories in India.
